And the winner is . . .

. . . Anne Hindmarch’s “Tribute to Jane Stickle”!  There was only “Viewer’s Choice” voting, so this beautiful quilt was the FAVORITE of the Sandstitcher’s Quilt Guild Quilt Show held this past 19 May, and it was beautifully done.

That is Anne on the right with Susan Linn on the left!  The quilt is 83″ x 83″ and used mixed construction — hand appliqué, paper piecing, machine piecing, hand quilted.  The original quilt was made during the Civil War time in 1863 by Jane Stickle and is now in the Bennington Museum in Vermont.

There was a tie for second Viewer’s Choice:

Susan Linn’s “Too Much Chaos” shown here:

The quilt is 102″ x 89″.  This was Bonnie Hunter’s online mystery “Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll” that ended January 2011.  Professionally quilted by Cynthia Reaves.

And Brigitte Hass’ “Baltimore Album” (I apologize that the picture is so blurred!  I can’t always tell on my cell phone whether or not it turned out!)  60″  x 60″, Baltimore Style design.  Hand appliquéd.  Professionally machine quilted by Diann Loper:

All the winners of the individual categories were also announced at last night’s business meeting, and lots of ribbons were handed out.  Congratulations to ALL!
