Well, I am re-reading the course this morning and it looks like I purchased an unneeded item yesterday — Harriet & Carrie recommend snipping the threads as you go with small scissors.
In the section about cutting the strips and chain sewing together, I have not been able to successfully understand this sentence on page 30: “You are pressing the seams toward the vertical strip so that the seam allowances are not pressed back on top of themselves.” Maybe when I get the pieces in front of me it will click!
